Coil vs Latch in Ladder Logic

Welcome back for another video. Today we’re talking about a very important concept in programming style. There are always plenty of ways to skin the cat (not sure why you’d want to though…), and they all come with their own advantages and disadvantages. In this case, we’re talking about coils vs latch instructions (sometimes called “set” instructions). Both allow you to control the state of a bit and in many cases work for the same applications, but there’re are some common conventions to be aware of. Watch the video to find out what they are.
